I would give my vet a call real quick just ask them over the phone, have the bottle handy so you can read it off to the vet.

it is cause by over production of tears the tears pack into the extra skin it has. vets perform plastic surgery to cut some of the skin away, since it causes so many skin and eye problems if not taking care of carefully and correctly. its a good that your not listening to the breeder because it can cause more blindness. just like what it says on the package DONT PUT IT ON!!!! it says for a reason. the vet will give you a better medicine to use so have that checked out and be carefull
good luck

Your vet that has done this eye surgery would be able to help you with buying the proper product to put in your dogs eye’s to help. Dog breeder or not sometimes they don’t know all…. Don’t listen to her/him if there is a warning on the ointment, to not use in eye’s that means it is not safe and can have adverse effects…. I have known a couple that had to have there shar pei’s eye’s tacked 3 times, and they did get some eye drops from there vet, if i could get ahold of them i will edit my comment to let you know what they have and are using… But call the vet that did the surgery, and they can help you better then we can here, and don’t listen to the breeder please…. If she knew what she was talking about, she wouldn’t recommend to use something that specifically states not to Bad breeder

Go to your vets now. The poor dog needs you to take him as soon as.

don’t put it in the eyes. She’s not there to watch the eyes get all irritated and stuff, so don’t do what the breeder says. If your dogs eyes are inflamed take to to the vet for the proper medication. THat’ll end up being much cheaper than paying to treat what putting triple antibiotic in his eyes would cause.
Typically the eye surgery for shar peis is because their eyelids tend to turn under and the lashes irritate the eye. If that’s done very early it may need to be done again, depending on how the dog grew. Just have the vet check it…
If he can’t see UP because of wrinkles, well, that’s how they’re built…they weren’t bred to catch flying objects, after all.
